Desktop Publishing (DTP)
E-C has an excellent in-house DTP team and rigorous project process for DTP production. All of our DTP projects follow the steps specified below:
1. Project Kick-off
Project manager studies the clients' source files and requirements and proposes a suitable solution.
Clients confirm our solution and quotation and issue a formal Purchase Order.
2. Project Preparation
Project manager checks source files to make sure that they are in good shape and all fonts and images are complete and correct.
Project manager selects the best fonts for the target characters to match the source layout style and creates a sample PDF file to confirm the format details with clients.
Project manager prepares DTP working environment and project instructions; ensures that the software versions are compatible among clients, printing house and DTP team.
3. Project Implementation
DTP engineers begin the DTP process with the corresponding software.
DTP proofreaders double check all details according to the project instructions and our internal standards. DTP engineers make changes based on the proofreading comments.
4. Quality Assurance (QA)
DTP QA engineers perform spot-checks on the work during the DTP process to find problems at an early stage.
DTP QA engineers double check the entire DTP product according to client's instructions and our internal quality criteria.
DTP Engineers implement corrections based on the QA comments.
5. Project Sign-off
Another DTP proofreader carries out the final check to make sure all the requirements have been executed correctly.
Project manager delivers the final DTP files to clients using the designated method.
6. Project Summary
Project manager studies client's feedback and performs a project summary among team members.
Project manager works out feasible solutions to improve service quality with the whole team.
QA manager evaluates team members' performance and submits quality report.
